Rigging Fundamentals

Course Description

This course provides rigging theory and practical training focused on the safe selection, inspection, and use of rigging equipment for lifting operations. The program is aligned with WorkSafeBC OHS Regulations, relevant ASME B30 standards, and recognized industry best practices.

The course covers regulatory requirements, roles and responsibilities, rigging equipment and hardware, load control principles, inspection and rejection criteria, communication, and basic lift planning considerations. Training is intended to support an employer’s lifting and rigging program and applies to workers involved in rigging, signalling, and load handling activities.

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Rigging Fundamentals certificate, valid for three years or as otherwise required by the employer.
